Quality Inspection Assistant
Department / Emphasis: Quality department – Support of all Manufacturing

Duties & Responsibilities
This role within the Quality Department will be working closely with the Quality Manager in everyday tasks within our QMS (Quality Management System). This individual must be willing to learn and become very familiar with all aspects of the company’s QMS, work with Quality Manager to write and produce inspection plans and documentation as well as perform 1st Article, In-Process & Final Inspections. This person will interact with all machinists, on a continuous basis, processing jobs on the shop floor and assisting them with locating any tools needed for inspections. They will be trained on the use of the CMM and all other inspection equipment and tools as well as training to becoming proficient with the programming of PC-DMIS over time. Supporting duties include properly identifying non-conforming parts, filling out required documentation, determining corrective actions with Quality Manager if needed, archiving electronic inspection reports, assembling all needed documentation for shipping and emailing reports to specific customers. Performing any manual rework will be required when non-conforming parts are identified in quality such as deburring, chasing holes, etc.

Position Specific Qualifications/Skills/Experience

- Experience within a Quality department helpful.
- Basic knowledge of GD&T
- Basic knowledge of and effective use of inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, depth mics, height stands, pin gauges, etc.
